We have been appointed as the lead agency for the campaign to introduce the electronic patient record (ePA). The German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) has selected our agency group for this important initiative, which is scheduled to launch in October. The campaign was commissioned as part of the Federal Ministry of the Interior's "Kaufhaus des Bundes" budget, for which we have been responsible since May 2022.

As of 15 January 2025, the electronic patient record (ePA) will be made available to approximately 73 million members of the statutory health insurance scheme. Following this date, health insurers will then provide their members with an ePA without their consent, unless they object using a simple opt-out procedure.

We have developed a nationwide communication campaign with the objective of raising awareness of the introduction of the ePA and communicating the associated benefits for patients. The Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) is committed to providing information and education about the ePA to address any knowledge gaps and dispel any prejudices.

The ePA will streamline the exchange and use of health data between all healthcare providers, ultimately enhancing patient care.

As the lead agency, we are responsible for the strategy for the ePA campaign. This involves developing the creative approach and overseeing the development of motifs and measures, among other things.

The campaign was commissioned within the scope of the Federal Ministry of the Interior's "Kaufhaus des Bundes" budget, for which we have been responsible since May 2022. It is managed from our Berlin office under the leadership of directors Florian Reher and Jonas Gulde.

A variety of ministries, public institutions and federal agencies, ranging from the Federal Foreign Office (AA) to the German Weather Service (DWD), can commission us from the "Kaufhaus". We also work from Berlin for a number of major public sector clients, including the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), the high-tech city of Dresden and the Foundation Chancellor Adenauer House. We also have extensive expertise in healthcare communication.

„We are delighted to announce that the Federal Ministry of Health has selected fischerAppelt as the lead agency for this significant campaign. We are confident that our highly motivated and experienced team, along with our expertise as a market leader in the healthcare sector, will meet the trust placed in us by the Ministry.“
